For all iPod owners

After a trip to the Apple Store and a conversation with a snotty iPod “Genius”, I feel that it is important for me to share a tip that may save you from buying a new iPod. Do not wrap your headphones around your iPod and leave it plugged in. Otherwise you might end up only hearing music in one ear (no matter what headphones you have). The Genius told me that since my Applecare just ended in January 2008, I’d have to pay $160 to get the headphone jack fixed. I told him that I had no idea that wrapping my headphones around my iPod was bad for it and I’d be sure to tell my friends since they wrap their headphones around as well. He said, “Actually, a lot of people do not wrap their headphones around their iPod.” Okay, WHAT-EVER. He also mentioned that I should just buy a new one. I was tempted to buy one at the store, but I controlled myself. I ended up buying a new silver classic iPod on NewEgg for $209. They have a service plan that extends an additional 2 years on the regular 1 year Apple warranty. It’s great! I hope I won’t have to buy a new iPod for another 3 years.

P.S. This is my 1000th blog post. I’ve reached a milestone!

CORRECTION: My wonderful boyfriend bought me the iPod. He’s truly the best!

I finally did it!

I finally caved and got my first physical since I graduated college. I told my new doctor how scared I was that I have high cholesterol like the rest of my family. The weirdest thing was that he drew blood from me in the examination room! I’m so used to going to labs to get my blood drawn. Also, there was no nurse, so he did all the work. I liked it. Plus, I was out in thirty minutes. He says he’ll call me with the results in a few days. Ahhh! I will wait a week and call him if I don’t hear from him! Oh yeah, the doctor’s office is across the street (literally). If I ever get sick, it’s going to be so easy!

I installed Leopard. Time Machine is pretty awesome. I haven’t really tried anything else yet though. I was expecting a total makeover, but it was just a few cosmetic changes. I’m glad that now you can see which wireless networks are locked. About time Apple! )

I must be going to the gym too much

Broken Key

I was opening my mailbox on Saturday when I realized my key was torn. Then I continued to try to turn the key, then the entire key snapped off. I was able to take it out easily though. I got a copy of my roomie’s key and it works better than my previous copy. This is a sign that I should stop working out. I’m just too strong for my own good!

I am loving my Mobile Card Reader/Writer. It can read 8 different types of cards, but I only recognize SD. Oh well! ) It was well worth $9.99. It was on sale at Radioshack, while it was like $15 at the evil Best Buy. I still can’t figure out how to use iPhoto to load my pictures. Is there a way I can download specific pictures instead of all my pictures?

Oh yeah, everyone should watch Rome. It has blood, sex and drama. I hate Cleopatra!
