Lovely weekend

I had a pretty good (busy) weekend. On Friday, I attended my good friend’s birthday dinner and party. We went to Otto for a delicious meal which included a cheese platter, pizza, wine, gelato and Sugar Sweet Sunshine “Bob” cake. Yum. After our meal, we went to a Belgian beer bar. I ordered Cherry Lindemann’s beer. So tasty. Too bad the bar was a little warm inside. I wish they had better air conditioning. I went to bed relatively early (2am).

I still managed to wake up early to go to my spinning class with my favorite teacher, Jess. I then relaxed for most of the day on Saturday. I snuck in a short nap. I then went out with my new roommate, her sister and cousin. They are all from Las Vegas, so I could barely keep up. My roomie and I left the bar at 3am, when they kicked us out. However, her sister and cousin (who are visiting), went on to another bar! I then found out today that they didn’t get back to the apartment until 7am. Crazy. I don’t know how they have the energy to stay out so late.

Today, I woke up around 8:30am and headed to the gym again. I came back, showered and napped. I was meeting friends for brunch at Alice’s Tea Cup for sandwiches, scones and tea. We had our favorite pumpkin and ham & cheese scones. We tried the strawberry and chocolate scone and it was delightful! I thought about buying two scones to bring home, but I controlled myself and only bought the ham & cheese scone.

Tonight, I took my roommate and her visitors to Chinatown for a “real” Chinese meal. We went to one of my favorite restaurants in Chinatown, New Yeah Shanghai Deluxe. I introduced them to soup dumplings. Yum. I couldn’t resist and ordered my favorite preserved vegetable with pork noodle soup. After our very large meal (we ordered so many dishes), we headed to Chinatown Ice Cream Factory. I think my favorite flavor is Taro there. I didn’t get ice cream because I wanted to get my passionfruit green tea.

We walked through Little Italy and then they headed to Times Square while I went back home. I was just in time to catch the Trueblood season premiere. Yay! Now, I must go to bed so I can wake up at the crack of dawn to go spinning with Jess again! I love her music. It really gets me going!

  1. I pass by the ice cream factory all the time but never had the chance to go in! I’ll def make a stop next time. Btw, the bookshelf in the previous post is something I was considering ordering online for my new apartment. Haha. Thanks for the comment!!

  2. Diana, the ice cream factory is famous for their almond cookie flavor. My personal favorite was the on time they had passion fruit. I prefer Sundaes and Cones for green tea ice cream. I find the tea flavor to be stronger and also not overly sweet like the ice cream factory. Also, the employees are way nicer!

The Ikea bookshelf is really handy, but a pain to move. There are a lot of pieces, so it makes it really heavy to move.

I found it very refreshing reading your blog. )
