2009

It’s officially the start of a new year. I can’t believe it! Last night was pretty uneventful. I am totally over the whole New Year’s Eve partying and open bar craziness. I did that one year, and it was “fun”, but I had to go to bed by 2am because I had a few too many drinks. When I’m paying $100 for an open bar, I feel a lot of pressure to drink enough to make it worthwhile.

My girls were reunited finally. One of my closest friends moved to Hawaii last April and she came back to the East Coast for Christmas. We had dinner and then attempted to make boxed chocolate raspberry cake. It did NOT work so good thing we bought a backup Betty Crocker triple chocolate fudge cake. I made it and it was a success. Yum. We ended up agreeing to watch Nancy Drew. I still can’t get over how dorky/geeky they made Nancy to be. I remember when I read all her books and I always thought she was the popular girl. Not a girl stuck in the 50s. Oh well. It was still pretty enjoyable.

I’m not looking forward to all the people who decide to join the gym to work on their New Year’s “resolutions”. We all know they won’t keep it after a couple of weeks. Why overcrowd our gym even more? Ugh. For my few readers, you’ll see that I added my Nike+ chart on the bottom right of my website. I ran my longest and farthest run just 2 days ago. Lance Armstrong congratulated me. Who knew how little it takes to motivate me?
