Okay, I’m not sure how many of you read my extensive entry about my long and tiring apartment search. I mentioned that I used a no fee service called Rent Direct so that I could apply to apartments directly with landlords and management companies. To my bad luck, I applied for an apartment with “Eljay Realty” and never heard back from them. They were very unprofessional and I’ll leave it at that. I e-mailed my Rent Direct advisor about my experience with Eljay Realty. I only e-mailed her in hopes that she would reply and remove Eljay from any future Rent Direct postings. I did not receive a response at all. I expected at least a boxed reply of “Thank you for your e-mail. We will get back to you on this matter.” I have worked in customer service and at our company, we always reply to e-mails; even if it is so insignificant.

Well, about a week ago, I received a comment from Larry from Rent Direct. I e-mailed him directly and explained the situation. I even forwarded him my e-mail I sent to Rent Direct. He replied quickly and said that he would see if Eljay Realty had any other complaints from previous clients. The next day he confirmed that there was another complaint and now Eljay was being dropped from the database. He had his customer service manager issue me a credit. I checked my credit card and my credit showed up on Monday. In the end, although I believe Rent Direct dropped the ball a little bit, by not responding to my complaint e-mail, they pulled through in the end. It amazes me that the president of the company stumbled across my lonely blog. I want to personally thank Larry for taking the time to look into the matter.

Now the Yankees are leading the Phillies. For how long? We won’t know. There is only one inning left and we are leading by 2. Let’s hope we can keep the lead for once! Laundry and baseball is a great life!
