Akeelah and the Bee

My roommate and I were lucky enough to score tickets to Tribeca Film Festival’s screening of Akeelah and the Bee thanks to my generous sister, Diana. I thought it would be very serious since it’s about a girl and spelling bees. It was actually really funny, emotional and inspirational. Now I wish I did spelling bees when I was a child. Everyone go see it today! It opens nationwide today! ) I love Javier. oops

As for my apartment search, things are progressing. I don’t want to jinx anything due to what happened with our dream apartment a month ago. I’ll just tell you this, it has been a month and we still haven’t seen the lease for this May 1st move-in apartment. We told the management company that we are no longer interested since it’s been too long and my lease is ending on June 1st. It was a bit ridiculous because on Monday their phone was actually off the hook (wh?!) In the last two days I have seen at least 8 apartments and met with three different brokers. I’m so tired. :tired: I am seeing more on Saturday and Sunday. Let’s hope for the best. I will definitely keep you guys updated. Have a GREAT Friday!

  1. I watched the little girl from Akeelah and the Bee on Leno the other night. She’s so adorable. It looks like a fantastic film but I don’t know when it’ll be on here in Australia.

Oh dear. Appartment hunting is supposed to be fun and it doesn’t sound like you’re having much of it. I’m sorry about that…

  2. Thank you for letting us know about the movie. The kids in my grade will be watch it later on this month.
