Day 3 of the strike

Well guys, I walked to work yet again. It wasn’t so bad, it was a tiny bit warmer. Today I decided to go all out and wear sweatpants to work. I usually wear jeans to work, but I feel much more comfortable in sweatpants when I have to walk 2 miles to work!

So today has been an excellent day. One of my co-workers made cookies and they were delicious! My boss told me about my bonus and it’s great! I’ll be getting it tomorrow. :giggle: Also, he mentioned I would be getting a raise in early 2006! I bought my LIRR ticket during lunch so I wouldn’t have to wait in line at 3pm. I made it to Flushing even though the conductor kept saying our train was making express stops due to the emergency contingency plan. The only bad news for today? I can’t switch out of T-Mobile until March. Boohoo.

I’m charging my battery for my new digital camera. ) I’ll be taking pictures this weekend. I have to buy more memory though! Have a great holiday guys!

Oh by the way, the strike is OFFICIALLY over!! Woohoo! I am so happy about that! It’s an early Christmas gift for New Yorkers!

Day 2 of the strike

Wow, I’m so tired. I walked home and there were a ton of cars yesterday. I decided to try to go to the gym since it would probably be empty. I know for sure that I won’t be going to the gym tonight. Walking gets me super tired. Yesterday I walked about 4 miles and then went to the gym. I know to some people, 4 miles is nothing, but in the cold it totally sucks. cry

I’m going to try to take pictures of the madness tonight. There were a lot more people walking to work today. I guess they realized they couldn’t skip work everyday! I left my apartment at 8:10 am today and got to work at 9 am. I guess that’s not too shabby. I did take a couple of breaks (I had to get money at the ATM).

In other news, I can’t wait to go back home on Long Island. This strike is definitely ruining my life. mad I bought myself a new digital camera and after a lot of confusion with FedEx, it finally made it to my parents’ house. I can’t wait to open it! ) I’m really happy I’m taking Friday off. YAY!

I don’t think this strike will be ending anytime soon. I feel bad for those people who work in Manhattan and live in Brooklyn or Queens. It must really suck get to work. shock
