Halloween 2005
Oct 31st
Okay, so I’ll admit it, I’m not a big Halloween fan. I hate dressing up because I’m not creative enough to think of a good costume. My roommates went to a party as Gwen Stefani’s Harajuku Girls. I didn’t want to participate so I stayed home.
I was fortunate to finally go to Katz Delicatessen yesterday. After our delicious pastrami sandwich, my friends and I went to Pommes Frites. The french fries were perfectly crisp and hot. I loved it.
I prefer my fries without a dip, but I tried the dill mayo and it was pretty decent. I think next time I’ll try BBQ sauce.
Anyway, I am much much better now. I’ve been to the gym and now there are great big TVs, so I love working out now. I get to watch TV and sweat. I’m no longer a couch potato!
Oh yeah, for the 10th time around, Cici decided to setup another forum. Go talk!
Happy Halloween and eat delicious candy!!:work:
Taking my first sick day
Oct 18th
My friends have convinced me not to go to work today. They said I should think about my co-workers and stay home and get better. I don’t feel too bad. I think I have a slight fever since I feel pretty hot inside the apartment. My nose is bit runny and I do have a slight cough. It could be a lot worse. Actually, my roommates wanted me to stay home yesterday so I could nip this sickness in the butt. I felt bad to not show up on a Monday so I went in and did my thing. Then I asked if I could leave early since I wasn’t feeling very well. My boss is great and let me go early.
Anyway, I took a nap from 9:30 am to 1 pm. Isn’t that a little bit crazy? I was waiting for the Ellen Degeneres show (that starts at 10 am), but the time it came out I was pretty much out.
I’m not sure if all this sleeping is needed for my body to fight this sickness. I really just hope I’m way better tomorrow so I can go to work. I feel like I’m playing hooky by skipping work today! I’m not even sure why I am sick.
Okay, well I better go have some more soup.
Wet clothes
Oct 13th
I’ve been sitting in wet clothes for the past two days. Why you may ask? Well, since last Friday it’s been raining pretty steadily. Yesterday, I took the bus to the subway station in the morning, but because the windows were too foggy, I ended up getting off way too late. At that very moment I stepped outside, Mother Nature decided to punish me and the torrential rains came down. I stepped in a huge puddle and my jeans were soaked up to the knee. It was fabulous.
Today, I was much luckier and barely got wet. The commute to work was a lot easier too. This time my bus’ windows were clear and I could see exactly where Lexington Avenue was. I read that in just October alone we may exceed the amount of rainfall we had in July, August and September combined! Crazy huh.
It’s funny how rain can ruin your mood. I miss summer and capris.
:stressed:
In good news, it’s Yom Kippur and almost everyone in my office is out. It’s just me and the girls holding down the fort!
I’m definitely going to be leaving early today! :-P I’m going to drag my lazy butt to the gym and be healthy!
Division Champs for the Eighth Year!
Oct 1st

I doubt anyone expected this to happen (even myself), but the Yankees managed to win another American League East Championship! I had no idea that we were this close in winning. The announcers kept describing all the different situations for the Yankees, Red Sox and Indians. Then I found out that with a NY win and a Cleveland lost today, we would become the AL East champions! At first the Indians and White Sox were tied at 1-1, but then Iguchi from the White Sox hit a 3-run homer and made it 4-1. The Indians scored two more runs, but could not do anything else. The Yankees had a few home runs (Sheffield, A-Rod and Matsui) and great defense by Sheffield and others. Randy Johnson had a tough first two innings, but he settled in and came through with a well-deserved win.
Gordon did his regular by allowing a HR and Mo closed out the game! Awesome awesome game.
As for yesterday’s game, I don’t think Taiwan’s pride and joy, Wang Chien-Ming did that terrible. He only gave up 5 runs in 6 and 2/3 innings. Compared to what Moose accomplished against the Orioles on Tuesday (5 runs in 1 and 2/3 innings), I’d say that Taiwan is still pretty proud of their baby!
Anyhow, I’m really excited. I had no idea that the Yankees could clinch the division today. What a surprise!! :bouncy:
