Another political rant

I was reading http://news.google.com. I found out that GW wants to renew the double-standing Patriot Act! How absurd. I think I mentioned how I disagree with this act because it violates many vital human rights. Most importantly, it allows the government to tap your lines if you are a “suspected terrorist”. They don’t give you a proper trial, instead you have a military trial where a lot of your rights are not provided. I’m not going to go into specifics about it. You can refer to my previous GW rant about this matter.

The other news that caught my eye is the mine explosion in Northeast China. Seems like China is having it’s own little Industrial Revolution (about 100 years late). I’m pretty sure there are more people dead. China likes to censor the news, so who knows the real facts.

In other less important news, only 35 minutes until this dreaded commercialized holiday is over. It’s just another reason to spend money, buy greeting cards and eat a lot of chocolate. The good thing about this holiday is that tomorrow, all those Valentine’s candies and chocolates will be on sale. So run to your nearest CVS, Rite Aid, Duane Reade or Eckerd to catch them while they last! )

I’m using my lovely laptop, and it is quite wonderful. Good night everyone! :tired:

Congratulations John Mayer!

My love has won two Grammys! Best Male Pop Vocal Performance and Song of the Year. Yes the last award was somewhat of a shocker, but I’m so happy for him! I missed his “Daughters” perfomance because SOMEONE fell asleep on the couch. It’s okay because I’ll probably find it online somewhere so I can watch John Mayer without any distractions.

Anyway, I know a lot of you don’t like John Mayer, but I don’t care! This totally makes my day.

Good night. cool

Hi!

I’m so happy it’s already Friday. I’ve had a long week at work. :tired: I’m happy today is Friday because:

1. It’s payday!
2. I’m going to go home and watch “Lost”
3. I can sleep late tonight and wake up late!
4. I might actually have weekend plans. (No more anti-social Teresa!)

That’s about it.

I have an embarrassing story to share with you all. Just a few days ago, I updated this really busy restaurant’s menu. The owner of this restaurant is very obsessive compulsive. He is always e-mailing my boss about little corrections to his menus. He has like 6 locations of the same retaurant too! Anyway, so I made the needed corrections and then e-mailed my bosses by clicking on Reply All in Outlook. I made a little funny comment about the owner saying, “I’ll be waiting for [Owner's Name]‘s corrections! ) ” After I sent it, I looked at my e-mail and it was sent to the OWNER!! I freaked out and tried to “recall” the e-mail. My boss told me that he probably won’t even read it. After I recalled it, the owner e-mails me asking if the changes have been done. I could tell he was getting nervous and antsy. It was soo embarrassing.

So the lesson of the day is: Check who you’re replying to when you click on Reply All. It’ll save you from embarrassing situations. shock

By the way, go check out Mia’s new layout. She’s back for good!! grin
