Movie Weekend

This weekend I watched three movies. They were: The Grudge, The Notebook and Constantine. I will share my thoughts on each of these movies.

First of all, The Grudge was a terrible movie. I feel that although it was scary, there was really no clear storyline. Unless you call killing every character in the movie as a plot. It’s weird that this movie is remake of a Japanese movie (just like The Ring), yet all the main character, Karen (played by Sarah Michelle Gellar) is American. It takes place in Japan, which is just weird. Anyway, I was warned by many people just how bad the movie is, but I wanted to watch something scary, and I thought that it couldn’t be that bad. I was so wrong.

The next movie I watched was The Notebook. I had doubts about this movie. I figure it would be yet another cheezy romance movie (just like A Walk To Remember). Although it was cheezy, I really enjoyed it. There were some parts where I started to cry. I wish my real life could mimic the movie. Meeting my soulmate at age 17. That would be so cool. I really liked how the story was laid out as well.

Lastly, yesterday, I went to see Constantine with my family. I really had no idea what it was about except that hell doesn’t want him but the world needs him. Haha. Keanu Reeves looked pretty good. I didn’t quite understand the ending, but there were some pretty interesting effects. I do wish we went to see Hitch instead. Maybe my parents would understand that movie more. I love Big Willie!

Okay, well that’s about it to my movie review entry. I was having some problems with my sidebar on the right. In Internet Explorer, it used to move all the way to the bottom right. Now it seems okay in both FireFox and Internet Explorer. This theme is pretty hot. I also figured out how to display my archives on a static page. My life is complete!

By the way, my commute back home today was pretty horrendous. I’m currently angry with the F, V and 7 trains. Thanks for not showing up today! mad

Good night guys!:tired:

Teresa Said: Watch it!! I still have to watch Garden State. I’m kind of worried to watch it because everyone said it was so good. I think I’m just setting myself up for disappointment. ? ??:

  3. The Notebook is in my top five movies of all time, but I really am that much of a dumbass romantic. haha

Teresa said: Don’t worry, I am a big romantic as well. I wish my life was a movie and I could predict my ending. Too bad there are no guys who would ever be like Noah. cry

  4. I thought Constatine was just OK. A dvd rental at best. I wish I could find the time to watch as many movies as you!:stressed:

Teresa said: Yeah, Constantine wasn’t worth $9.50. I would much rather have rented it. I only have time to watch movies on the weekends. I’m so behind with all the movies!

  8. i saw the grudge in japanese… and it wasn’t scary because i didn’t really understand what was going on. the litlte boy was pretty freaky though…

and the notebook! aw. i loved it but i was the only person in the theater who wasn’t bawling their eyes out. P

Teresa said: It’s really weird. I only cry during romance movies like the notebook or a walk to remember. I remember when I went to see A Walk to Remember with my friends. At this one specific part, I started to wipe tears from my eyes. I tried not to make it obvious, but after the movie, my friend said she totally saw me crying. I never bawl my eyes out though. HAHA. ) My friends all cried during Whalerider, but I didn’t. I felt like I had a heart of stone. ? ??:

  9. I sooooo wanna see the new movie with Johny Depp. What´s it called? Finding Neverland? :giggle:

Teresa said: Yes I think it’s called Finding Neverland. Johnny Depp is going to be in the new Charlie and the Chocolate Factory movie. I can’t wait! -P

  10. I agree with you on the grudge. that movie sucked more than a sponge.
i havent seen the notebook yet, but i want to. sooobad.
and i really liked constantine. keanu cant act, but whatever, he’s hot.

Teresa said: You definitely should watch The Notebook if you’re a fan of romance movies. I think I cried the most during that movie, and I rarely ever cry. ) I think Constantine was pretty good, I was just confused about some parts. Maybe we can discuss the ending one day. I still want to see Million Dollar Baby!!

  11. Yes…I seen both the Japenese and American versions of the grudge. The Japanese one was not as coherent, but I found it alot scarier, perhaps because I paid more attention to what was on the screen due to the fact i could not understand the language. *shrugs* But yeah..it was kinda..crap!
