Happy New Year!

Xin nian kuai le! I was planning on posting this earlier today, but I was really busy at work! Yesterday my family and I went to the Peking Duck House for dinner. It was delicious. I had some great duck and food. Mmm.

Before my big family dinner, I decided to get a haircut. I went to this place called Jean-Louis David, which is supposed to be a “cheap” hair salon that doesn’t require appointments. I went to the one near Union Square. The receptionist told me that it would be $23.50 for a cut without a blow dry. I agreed to this and then she sent me to the hair dresser. Her name was Dolores. She washed my hair and then proceeded to cut my hair with an electric razor. After she finished, I thought she would use scissors to clean up the cut, but instead she whipped out the hair dryer. I was a bit confused with why she was doing this since I had said earlier that I did not want a blow dry. Since this was my first time at this hair salon, I then thought that maybe a “blow dry” meant with a lot of product and like actually styling the hair. I thought since she was just blow drying my hair any which way, it came with the cut. Well, she finished drying my hair and I went to the front to pay, and then the receptionist told me that it would be $45.50. I was surprised because I thought I had gotten a regular cut. I told her that I said I didn’t want a blow dry and that I wasn’t aware that this was the “blow dry”. She then said, “Well you could have told her to stop”. I ended up charging it to my credit card since I didn’t have enough cash. I’ve never spent so much money on a crappy hair cut. I think I will be going back to my mom’s salon. At least there I know what I’m getting for my money. At least they use scissors over there!

Okay, I had a really long day at work today. I hope you guys saw the cool logo at google.com today. Tomorrow is Thursday. OC night!! D
