How much is too much freedom of speech on the radio?

I’ve been reading about this popular local hip hop station, Hot 97, and how its morning show DJs played this disturbing parody song called the “Tsunami Song”. Basically, it makes fun of this tragedy. What’s even worse is that one of the DJs is of Asian descent and before they played it, she said she felt offended by it and would take no part in it. You can go listen to the actual song here. It starts up with the DJs fighting. Miss Info is the one who is against the song. Miss Jones is the annoying woman who keeps fighting with her. If you’re too lazy to listen to the actual clip, you can read about it on cnn.com. If you want even more details, I would get it from hiphopmusic.com

Do you think this song was appropriate? You should really look at the lyrics. I don’t understand why anyone would even want to poke fun on such a serious tragedy. I won’t even touch the racist aspects of this song and the whole attack on Miss Info. mad mad

In other news, Happy 17th Birthday to my little sister! I can’t believe she’s growing up so fast! eek
