Wow I never thought having a Monday off could really shorten the entire week. It’s almost Thursday! Woohoo! I think my week at work has been going by so well because I have a very short priority and now I’m just revising and updating menus. It’s quite nice. I’m enjoying it because I’m sure next week I’ll be working like mad again.
I’ve been thinking about writing about this little insignificant story from my daily life. So here it goes. Everyday I take the same subway train and get off at Herald Square/34th Street. Everyday I come out of the same subway exit. Everyday I see the same friendly guy distributing AM-NY. For you non-New Yorkers, it’s one of the free daily newspapers in NYC. I used to read it on the train, but now I just listen to my iPod and nap. Well, I will always take his newspaper because his happy attitude brightens up my day. He always asks me how I am and how my weekend was. I even remember when he asked if I’d be here the next day when it was 2 days before Thanksgiving. I usually end up throwing out his newspaper at the end of the block because I don’t ever have time to leaf through a newspaper. I also like reading all the rumors and trash news online. I don’t know if this makes me a tree killer, but I figured that if I don’t take the newspaper, it’ll probably be found on the floor somewhere. At least this way I discard it at a garbage can. No matter how crappy the weather is, I can be sure to find Mr. Newspaper guy waiting for me at the end of the stairs. His smiling face brightens up my day even if it’s only for a moment. The idea that New Yorkers are the rudest people in the world is very untrue. You just need to find the people who care and are willing to open their arms to anyone. Also, I went to Beijing in 2001 and the people there were so rude. They are definitely ruder than New Yorkers.
I will leave you guys with a picture of my friends and I at the club Strata last Saturday.

My friends and me!
Notice the guy with the pink trucker hat? HAHAHA!
