Today, my younger sister and I arrived at the Internet cafe at 2:45 pm. We did not sit down at a computer until 4 pm. Why did it take us so long to finally use a computer? Well, it’s because of all the people who only play Counterstrike and other online games like that. For $110 NT ($3 American about), one can use a computer for 5 hours. You can also use computer for 8 and 12 hours at a time. How crazy is that? This place must be making tons of money. They also serve food and drinks to these gaming addicts. What confuses me is why these kids don’t play their games at home. One person told me that the connection here is much faster. My cable modem at home is very fast. I don’t find this to be any faster. Anyway, maybe Taiwan’s DSL/Cable connection isn’t as fast.
I have 4 minutes before my time is up. My birthday was good. We ended up going to a Chinese buffet. For a mere $22 American, I dined like a princess. Many of these huge buffets in Taipei, put East Buffet to shame. They are cheaper too!
Well, my sister and I are off to meet people at Shilin Nightmarket. Yesterday, we went to the famous Snake Alley. I love how that night market is called a “Tourist Night Market”. Basically, it just means the prices are jacked up.
My sister and I saw Landy at Ximending yesterday. I think it was the highlight of my sister’s trip. I will be adding pictures to my photogallery as soon as I return to the States.
