Surviving the heat

I finally found an Internet cafe that isn’t full of smokers. My younger sister and I have been holding down the fort here in Taipei, Taiwan. My parents and older sister left on Monday. We didn’t do much since they’ve left. On Monday, we went to Taipei 101, the tallest building in the world (for now). There is a big mall so Jessica and I hung out at the huge bookstore, called Page One. It has the biggest collection of American/English books. I sat there for an hour and read Helen Fielding’s latest book, “Olivia Joules and the Overactive Imagination. I finished the book today at the Core Pacific City Mall’s book store, Eslite. It was an entertaining book, I highly recommend it as a good beach book for females.

Yesterday, my sister and I spent time with my mom’s friend and her children. She made all these plans about watching, “House of Flying Daggers” with her kids, who are much younger than I. I’d rather watch the movie with my sister. I feel weird hanging out with kids who are half my age (almost). Speaking of my age, I’ll be 22 in 8 days. Once again, I will be spending my birthday in a foreign country. I have like 3 friends here. It will be a very pathetic birthday. Oh well. I guess I’ll have my real birthday celebration once I’m back in the states.

Well, I bought a Chinese cd. I’m going to go home and listen to it. I think I’m turning into a fob. Oh well!
