Today, my sister and I woke up early (before noon!). Why you ask? Well, I was determined to go to Quizno’s for lunch. Last weekend, I saw some coupons for a new low carb flatbread sandwich. Although I could not find the coupon anymore, I was determined to try out this new low carb lunch. Last night, I went to the Quizno’s website and found its menu and then discovered just how many different sandwiches they offered. I decided to get the Smoked Turkey without the fatty and carb sauce. My mom decided to get the Spicy Monterey Chicken. My sister and I arrived at this restaurant/deli at around 12:15 pm and there was a huge line. I figured it was lunch hour. All these business people were there waiting to get their lunches. I figured that this place must be really good if there were so many customers. I ordered my flatbread sandwich. My sister got a sub. She was surprised to find that they toasted the bread. After about 20 minutes, we had our lunch. We even decided to combo up a meal so we could try these new soy protein chips. I was expecting soy chips, but they were like healthy Doritos. The flatbread sandwich was much more filling than Subway’s teeny low carb wrap that consisted of 2 pieces of meat. I waited in line again to get my mom’s lunch to go. The lady next to me informed me that it was her first time here. I said that I’ve only tried the flatbread sandwiches and the salads, and they were both pretty good. She told me that she was amazed with just how many people were here. She also told me that Subway was right across the street. Wow, talk about competition! All in all, my sister and I agreed that Quizno’s was definitely better than Subway. I plan on going back there; just not during lunch hour.
Everything tasted a lot fresher. I guess toasted bread just makes the entire sandwich better.
It took me awhile to finally get to my mom’s office. I have a fear of making left turns. My younger sister just kept telling me to make a left turn, like it’s that easy! There was no light to make the left, so basically I would be turning into incoming traffic. It was quite stressful. I ended up a block away from my mom’s office, and decided we’d just park in a side street, and then walk to her office. We arrived after 15 minutes. What an adventure. We stopped by the supermarket to pick up some more delicious strawberries and white nectarines. Then we stopped by our library to get some books for our trip to Hawaii and Taiwan. Four days until paradise! I can’t believe it!
