When is Spring?
Jan 29th
I would like to point out how crappy the weather has been. On Tuesday, there was so much slush, I had to change my socks twice in one day. I stepped in so many dirty slush puddles I lost count! Now it’s super cold again. I actually asked my friend to see if he was driving to school for our night class. I never ask people for rides! Good thing the class was cancelled due to our professor’s illness.
In other news, I ordered two interview books from Amazon. I decided to buy a cd too because I wanted to qualify for the free shipping. Why should I pay 5 dollars for shipping when I don’t get the package any faster? I got a confirmation e-mail on Tuesday that my stuff had been shipped out. By Wednesday morning, my books were already in Pittsburgh. I love it! I got the Josh Kelley cd. I got it because it was only $10.99 and it was recommended by Amazon! I listened to some songs on the site, and I recognized his first single, “Amazing”. I’m not sure where I’ve heard it from, but it’s pretty good.
Next Tuesday I have my first quiz for Business Law. On Thursday I have my International Relations mid-term. On Friday I have my interview with fun Deloitte. I’m really nervous for the interview. I learned from one of my interview books, that it’s worse not to have any questions for your recruiter than to show up late or even look bad. This weekend I will need to come up with at least ten questions to ask my recruiter.
Grace’s parents are coming today and we are going to Wal-mart. I’m really excited. I have my shopping list all ready! I wonder when Spring will get here because I’m tired of all this snowy, cold, and windy weather!
Gavin was awesome
Jan 22nd
I’ve been talking about how great Gavin DeGraw was live. Rather than repeat myself again, go look at my Gavin DeGraw photo album. In fact, I will post my picture with him and me here:

In other news, happy new year’s! It’s the year of the monkey. I should have worn something red today. Oh well! Gong xi fa cai! Hong bao na lai! For those who don’t speak Mandarin, that means “Happy New Year’s, now give me my red envelope!” Haha!
Why is it so cold?
Jan 21st
It’s been so cold here in Pittsburgh. I can’t take it! I always have to leave the apartment with like 4 layers on! It’s just ridiculous. Today I have aerobics and then work at 2 pm. I’m excited for the Gavin DeGraw concert tonight. I saw him on “One Tree Hill”, and he wasn’t very attractive according to my friend. I didn’t find him any uglier than John Mayer. I’m just excited to see Gavin DeGraw at Club Laga since it’s all General Admission so I’m guessing we could end up quite close to him! I’m definitely bringing my camera to take some pictures of this new musical artist. I’ve been listening to his CD for two weeks now!
Yesterday, the people from the ad agency and Pittsburgh Pirates came to talk to my marketing class. We tried to convince the guy from the Pirates to give us tickets to opening day. He’s like “Don’t push your luck!” I found out that they only sell out twice a season and it’s on opening day and the big day when they have fireworks. That’s kind of sad because the Yankees sell out so many times. Also, the point of our project is to increase individual ticket sales. That will be pretty interesting since the team pretty much sucks and they got rid of their one superstar: Giles. We’ll see what happens.
I have a bunch of little errands to do today. I need to return a textbook and pick up my new one waiting at the mailroom. I bought this used textbook for $92 and I found it on half.com for $24.50. What a great deal! I’ve been trying to get off my senioritis butt and put up a new layout. I actually worked on it on Saturday. Here is what I have so far: new layout. It actually took me like 3 hours to do because I’m kind of rusty with Adobe ImageReady. I finally remembered how to slice up my layout. Yay! Maybe one day I will finish this layout.
Until then you will have to deal with this boring layout! I’ll update lateR! <3
I love this semester
Jan 15th
Wow, this last semester of college rocks so far. I only have 3 real classes, and I’m taking 3 gym classes.
I’ve been pretty relaxed in all my classes. I’ve decided to take Business Law, Theories of International Relations, and Marketing Communications. In my marketing class, we are actually working with a real ad agency and a client. Guess who our client is? The Pittsburgh Pirates! I know they are a really crappy baseball team, but it’s still pretty exciting. At the end of the semester, we are going to present in front of the ad agency, and they will decide which group has the best idea, and then implement it. This is cool because that’s how they do it in the real world (kind of). This project is definitely going to give me experience that I so desperately need in marketing/advertising. The professor is really nice too. I’ve noticed that all my marketing professors have been really easy and laid-back. Too bad not all CMU professors are like that.
It’s been snowing on and off in Pittsburgh. I hate how the slush gets on my jeans/pants. It’s gross. :x I hear that it’s really cold in NY and Boston. For once Pittsburgh isn’t that cold.
Ok, that’s it for my short update. <3
Going back to Pittsburgh
Jan 9th
Hello everyone. I’m going back to school tomorrow. It’ll be a 9 hour trip via amtrak. I hope pittsburgh isn’t as cold as ny. I packed my two bags and I made my lunch. I’m really ghetto; I don’t want to spend $10 on some moldy gross lunch. I’ve had bad experiences with plane food. I had indigestion on a trip to Japan. Now I don’t trust any food served on a plane or train.
I’m kind of excited to go back to school, but I’m also very nervous. This is my last semester in college, and I better make the best of it. After this it’s the real world for me. It kind of scares me. Oh well, I’ll update you guys once I’m in Pittsburgh. Night
Oh yeah, my little sister made me oatmeal chocolate chip cookies for the ride. Are you jealous?
YAY IT WORKED
Jan 5th
Wow, that was the longest MT upgrade ever. I posted on the MT support forum asking why my upgrade didn’t work. I even e-mailed my host. I fixed it all by myself! Hurrah. I don’t feel like a total moron.
Anyway, I don’t really know why I decided to upgrade MT; maybe it was because I was bored at home. The problem was that I was not uploading some of the files the right way. I decided to ditch FlashFXP and try LeechFTP. I made sure I uploaded in ASCII and tada, it worked!! Yay.
I would update you guys with my crazy food weekend, but I don’t want to bore you to tears. I just want to say congratulations to my cousin, Alice and her fiance Mike. I can’t wait for your wedding in 2005.
