wow i survived the first week back to school. it’s only going to get worse and worse after this week. ahh. well i’m going to enjoy our 3 day weekend. i think the next vacation we get is mid-semester break in october. how exciting right? i have two classes today then i might go to the gym and work out. haha. i’m so obsessed over this gym thing. oh yeah, here is my friday five:

1. Are you going to school this year?
yep, senior at college. i’m old i know!

2. If yes, where are you going (high school, college, etc.)? If no, when did you graduate?
oh well, i already answered that. i go to cmu.

3. What are/were your favorite school subjects?
back in high school i guess my favorite subject up to junior year was math. now, i really have no idea. maybe philosophy?

4. What are/were your least favorite school subjects?
english because i’m really bad in writing. :/

5. Have you ever had a favorite teacher? Why was he/she a favorite?
i guess last semester i had two pretty cool professors. they were very accomodating and just friendly. they were my marketing and oral communications professors. too bad my marketing professor went to another university to teach.

today i called housing again because my fridge is not working. my chinese vegetables that i just bought on saturday were going bad. i left a message with the apartment building’s facilities’ manager. i told him that i would like to resolve this problem as soon as possible. then i told my dad that now my food is going bad and that i put a water bottle in the freezer over night, and that it still had not frozen. that’s just ridiculous! while i was on campus, the housing people came and gave us a NEW fridge! it’s huge and has a real freezer. it’s so great. i love it. so after dinner, grace, lynne, leslie, and i went to giant eagle and i bought some frozen foods! i bought some ground turkey and frozen veggies. ooh and giant eagle now has my favorite bread: pepperidge farm natural grains 9 grain bread. it’s so moist and tasty. also, it has no trans-fatty acids. so delicious. it was on sale, so i bought a loaf even though i still have more than half a loaf left. i put it in my now working freezer. ooh oc is on now! i have to go watch. i’m also going to see “whalerider” with my friends later tonight. it’s going to be great! <3

i really hate packing for school. i always end up forgetting some important thing, be it a tank top or a bath item. i called footlocker and asked if they received a new shipment of classic pumas, and the guy told me no. so sad. i guess i won’t be buying them. i really don’t have room for two more pairs of sneakers in my suitcases. tomorrow i have to do laundry and then pack my duffle bag. i have to go to tarjay to pick up some toiletries and a brita water bottle for the gym. i might end up buying other cute things because target is so damn cheap!! i love it. i worked out today. yay me. i’ve been really good this summer. i’ve worked out 4x a week for most of the summer. i just hope i can keep this up when i return to shittsburgh where every food item includes fries. ahh. :X

i don’t really feel like talking about what happened yesterday. i will say this. at 4:10 pm we lost power. we didn’t get power until this morning. i felt like a pilgrim living in the 1700s. my family and i hovered around a portable radio and like 5 candles and 1 flashlight. it was hot and humid. i’m just glad i wasn’t still working at the dreaded kpr because i would probably never have made it home. i’m glad we didn’t have any water shortages like unfortunate cleveland. i’d really like to know the REAL cause of this huge blackout in the north east. it’s funny how canada originally said that lightning struck the niagara powerplant on the ny side. then governor pataki denied that such a thing occurred. i hope they find out what happened. i heard some rumors that there were already power problems before the huge black out at 4:10 pm earlier. how come no one was notified? i don’t know. anyway, today i didn’t get to go to woodbury commons because grace hasn’t been picking up her phone. i even called her house phone. i hope she made it home okay. i really hope the john mayer concert is still on, or else i’m going to be very angry and sad. it’s so hot at home. i miss a/c.

today i watched my second episode of “queer eye for the straight guy“. it was sooo funny! diana and i were laughing so hard. they waxed this hairy straight guy’s back. they also waxed his unibrow off. it was very nice. they totally redid his east village apartment. it looks amazing!! this show will definitely be my downfall this semester. i guess it’s on tuesdays at 10 pm est on bravo. it’s also on nbc on thursdays at 10 pm. i highly recommend this show to everyone! they even bought the guy a new wardrobe including gucci sunglasses! i’m so jealous. anyway, my family and i had a late dinner at iavorone cafe. it was really good. i had sooo much food. i ate pasta (yes bad carbs!) and had a raspberry tart for dessert. it was so great. i love it! i seriously was so full it hurt, and i could barely stand up. haha. i just found out that i’m going to woodbury commons on friday!! grace is going to pick me up and then go shopping. i’m going to stay at her mansion in upstate ny and then we’re going to the concert on saturday. awesome!! leslie says she wants to see “uptown girls” with me. it looks so cute. this weekend is going to be great. after the concert, we’re going to be staying at lynne and leslie’s brother’s apartment in philly. yay!

oh yes, chel has a new adorable layout. go there now!!

today was another humid and nasty day. right now it’s raining. i really hope this crappy weather goes away soon. it’s kind of depressing; it reminds me of pittsburgh because it’s so overcast. today i didn’t do much. i watched the end of “the goonies” on some cable channel. did you know that i still haven’t seen that movie in its entirety? i guess i’ve had a sheltered life. cici was making fun of me earlier because i’ve never heard of pink floyd’s “the wall”. i’m not a fan of classic rock, what do you guys expect? i got tired of waiting for my parents to come home with some food so i cooked some spinach ravioli for my late dinner at 10:30 p.m. yay! it was very yummy.

yesterday i got a little bonus from my company. i got $100! i was totally caught off guard when the hr lady gave me the cash. i was all happy when i walked out of kpr for the last time (hopefully). too bad my commute home was hell. it took me 3.5 hours because the r train (again) kicked everyone off some random stop and told us that someone had died at another stop in the same train line. lucky for my parents had just left for boston, so i had to figure my way back home. i took 3 buses and got home at 8:40 p.m. it was such an exhausting commute. tomorrow i want to go to costco, but my mom doesn’t want to drive our very old station wagon there since it breaks down all the time.

ooh today i downloaded john mayer’s new single “bigger than my body”. it’s very good. i’m also really liking staind’s new single, “so far away”. aaron lewis’s eyebrow ring makes him so attractive in my opinion. i just downloaded savage garden’s “truly madly deeply”. that song is sooo old! i wonder where those two aussie boys went. i remember that i bought their 2nd album. they have dark hair and super blue eyes. so hot okay well, i’ll stop rambling now. bye! <3

i don’t know why i have this habit of arriving at work so early. i’m just worried that the subway will have delays, and i’ll show up at 9:20 a.m. again. in reality, that’s only 20 minutes late, but i just hate being late in general. i was contemplating showing up at 9 a.m., when i should be here instead of 8:20 a.m. but i figured that i enjoy taking the e train straight from 179th street so i won’t change my schedule anymore. i only have 1 more day anyway. yay! work is so boring now. i know i’ve been complaining about it for the longest time, but finally it’s going to be over. i don’t plan on doing much this weekend. my parents will be picking up my younger sister on friday. she’s at jane and chris’s house still. i hear she is totally abusing their tivo. poor jane and chris!! haha. my dad keeps asking if i want to go with them. after last weekend’s craziness, i told him no thanks. i’m just going to chill at home. i might be going to woodbury commons on saturday, but i’m not feeling it anymore. i don’t want to take the subway all the way to near columbia so i can go. i’d rather just stay at home and sleep.

yesterday my family had dinner with my cousin alice and her boyfriend. ooh his new car has all these cool things like a gps system, dvd player, and a little screen to watch the dvds! it was so awesome. we watched “old school” while we were on the long island expressway. i told alice that i could probably live in the car because it’s so nice. haha. we ate SO much at dinner because my parents ordered like 23908 appetizers. haha. it was good though because the owner prepared her homemade noodles for us. mmm. now i’m getting hungry and i have like 4 hours before lunch. ahh. i better stop talking about food.

oh yeah this accident thing has really caused my family to get very tense and stressed out. last night my dad was explaining all this insurance stuff. i kind of got lost. i have to fill out some form the hospital gave me. also, all these insurance agents keep calling my house and diana. grr. fung hwa definitely needs to pay up. time to go and pretend that i’m working.

okay, this is going to be a long ass entry, so everyone be prepared to snooze. as most of you know i was in the boston area this weekend. my older sister, diana, and her friend belinda stayed at their friends’ apartment while i stayed at jane and chris’s house. saturday was pretty fun. i watched “the restaurant” on jane & chris’s tivo. we also went shopping for chris’s mt. dew’s at roche brothers because there was this big sale. each of us bought eight 2 liter bottles. haha. then we visited their new house, which looks like it came straight from an austin powers movie. after we came home and rested for a bit and went to see “american wedding”. haha that movie was soo funny. of course i was lucky enough to sit next to my clueless younger sister who kept asking questions about the movie such as “why did the girl go under the table?” haha. i was like, “um i don’t know. don’t ask me!” i can’t believe she’s almost 16 and doesn’t know. oh well. later that night we went to play laser tag. this chubby 8 year old girl kept chasing me around the place. first she’d say “i’m sorry” and then she’d shoot me repeatedly!! she kept following me. at one point i’m like “can you leave us alone?” she wouldn’t!! argh. jane, me, chris’s friend, and jessica were the bottom 4 players of the game. haha. jessica had a negative score while jane and i had a point difference between scores. laser tag was fun, but next time i don’t want to play with a bunch of little annoying kiddie brats.

on sunday, jane, jessica, and i went to tamara’s apartment for brunch. that’s where diana and belinda were staying. the brunch was delicious! i had sausage, bacon, a belgian waffle, and tons of fruit. it was yummy. also, i had some cookies that they had baked the day before. mmmm. around 2 we finally leave tamara and her boyfriend’s beautiful apartment. we head home to nyc. i doze off in the back because that’s what i do best when i’m in a car. i wake up to some heavy rain. i go back to sleep and then i wake up hearing this loud bang and then i hear diana and belinda in the front talking about something and then boom, we are hit in the back by a car. after like a minute just sitting in the car, diana told belinda and i to collect our things from the trunk. i try to get out of the car, but my door is stuck. diana’s door is right next to the car who hit us and so the only door that opened was belinda’s. we go outside and i see all this green fluid on the interstate. i was happy to see my messenger bag still in the trunk. i grab it and take out my phone. diana tells me to call my mom. i tell her that we’re in another accident. i am kind of freaking out and screaming because i was pretty scared. i turn to my right and see a fung hwa bus. for those who don’t live in boston or nyc, fung hwa bus company is this shuttle bus that takes people from nyc to boston and back for $10. it’s really cheap.

anyway, apparently this minibus hit the car behind us which then hit us from the back. our whole trunk was smashed; belinda’s suitcase flew out onto the interstate, but some nice person picked it up and put it next to our car. i was ready to kick the fung hwa bus driver’s ass because i knew he was responsible for this pile up on interstate 84. the fire truck and state police came. all this chaos started. i tried to get the triple a number from my mom who was not being very helpful. diana told me later that my mom said “i love my car”. haha her car was the one that got totaled in february and now her camry was totaled from the back. a nice firefighter paramedic guy brought us to his truck and was doing this check up on us, but then the ambulance came and we moved there with our bags and stuff. one guy told us to go to the hospital to get checked out because it wasn’t our fault and we wouldn’t be paying. so they took our vitals on the ambulance. then we were driven to hartford hospital. we waited about 10 min to get a preliminary exam. they kept asking us the same questions. “where were you sitting? did you have a seatbelt? what’s your social security number?”

after that examination we went to the bathroom and then we thought we were done. then someone called my name through the pa and i was led to registration. so we got all registered at the hospital. we even got hospital bracelets. haha. oh yeah, by this time, my parents had already left from home to come pick us up. they arrived at around 7:00 pm or so. we thought we could go home, but we a hospital person told us we were still waiting to see a doctor. we finally get called in at like 9 pm and we thought finally we’re going home. nope, we waited another 30 minutes inside the examination room. the doctor came in and he was very friendly. he said “good thing you had your seatbelt on”. haha. yeah i’m really glad i did too. he gave us some prescriptions to pain killers and a muscle relaxant. yay. i didn’t get mine filled.

we finally leave the hospital at about 10 pm. by then we are starving, so my parents let us stop by a super ghetto mcdonald’s in hartford to buy our late dinner. we drop off belinda at her apartment in the city at around 12:30. we get home at around 1 am. it was great! our camry is still in hartford, ct. we’re not sure how we’re going to get it home. we think it’s repairable, and our insurance should cover it. oh yeah, so we finally found out what the hell happened on the interstate. apparently the stupid driver wasn’t paying attention (on the bus), and didn’t brake in time. this led to him crashing into the lady behind us who then hit us from the back. while we were in our examination room, another guy from the accident stopped by our room. he asked if we needed to go back to nyc. we said our parents were here, so it was okay. then we asked him what happened because he was on the bus. he said that the driver was fiddling with the air conditioner and just not paying attention. then some guy from the back of the bus told him to brake, and he didn’t do it in time. what a dumbass. why are chinese people sooo careless when it comes to driving? i really want to sue his ass and his stupid company. for all you people in nyc, don’t ever take the fung hwa bus from chinatown to boston. they have some crazy people driving. oh yeah, i will end this rambling entry with a funny point. the state police man couldn’t talk to the chinese bus driver so he asked us if we could translate what the dumb jerk was saying. of course the guy spoke cantonese, so diana tried to get him to talk to my dad, but he said “oh i don’t understand him”. haha. we should have just made up some lies saying he was drunk and was an illegal immigrant. that would have been great. oh well. we are all okay. i definitely am not going to work tomorrow. kpr can just kiss my butt. gnite. <3
