my spring break

ok so i will give you guys a cliff notes version of my spring break. on saturday morning at 7:30 a.m., my friends and i left the dreaded city of pittsburgh. the problem was that there were detours to get out of pittsburgh, and we didn’t finally get out until 8:30 a.m. haha isn’t that sad? so we drive and drive and we finally get out of crappy pa, and where do we end up? the great state of west virginia where there is no cell phone service! of the three phone services: verizon, t-mobile, and at&t, none of my friends had any service for the 3 hours in west virginia. it sucked a lot. i saw a lot of cows. wv is a boring state. after wv, we entered virginia, north carolina, south carolina, and finally georgia! woohoo. the first day we drove about 12 hours to atlanta. we saw some confederate bumper stickers. it was a very interesting experience. one said “keep it waving”. southern people sure have a different way of thinking.

after staying a night at atlanta, my friends and i got up early and left for destin, fl. we had to drive through the horrible state of alabama. i’ve never seen so many trailers in my life. we stopped in montgomery for some food. i think a kid screamed when he saw me. i don’t think he’s ever seen an asian! hehe. at a walmart in pensacola, and older lady asked hilary (the only non-asian) if we were international students. haha. that was funny. at around 6:30 p.m. we finally arrived in destin, fl. we went food shopping and then made our late dinner. the condo was soo nice. it had a great kitchen. grace and i got the big bed becase we planned out the entire trip. ) there was even a washer/dryer. ok, i think i’m babbling too much, so i’m going to write extended entry!

on monday morning, we all woke up at like 8 am. we were on the beach by 9:15 a.m. we all put on our sunblock. we left at like 3 pm. i was very dark by then. haha. then we went shopping and i bought another swim suit for $14! what a deal. )

on wednesday we went to the largest outlet mall in the united states. it really was kind of disappointing. they had some really crappy stores. ( no armani exchange or anything! boohoo. i bought some things at gap, but none of us were really that successful. later that day, some of us went to the nearest mall. it took us an hour to get there thanks to rush hour traffic on the only highway. santa rosa mall was the worse mall ever. at least i got my dress for ann’s wedding! yay. later that night we went to eat at a local seafood restaurant. it was pretty good, but expensive.

ok rather than go on about my eventless spring break, i will just tell you that all we did was read trashy romance books at the beach. oh yeah, we went to this surf type shop called “palace” and we saw a confederate bikini for $90! ridiculous. on the way home from destin, i saw a truck (of course) with a bumper sticker that said “it’s heritage, not hatred” and there was a confederate flag. haha. that was kinda funny. also, i saw this guy wearing a t-shirt with a big confederate flag. then it said “it’s a southern thing, y’all wouldn’t understand”. anyway, i’m glad i live in ny. it’s way more accepting and cultural than the south. D my friends and i didn’t go clubbing because we were afraid we’d get stoned by the caucasians. haha. ) well i’m done babbling for now. i have class in an hour. ( school is so depressing….
