so it was the first white christmas new york has had since 1969. it was so weird! it was raining for the first half of the day. then it started to sleet at around 3:00 p.m. when my family was coming home from port washington. my family thought about going to see “catch me if you can” yesterday, but then my mom opened the door and told us that there was much too much snow. i didn’t believe her, and went to check outside. whoa! there was like a good 6 inches! we ended up shoveling the snow at around 11 pm. we were the only crazy people shoveling, but wow there was a lot of snow! might i mention that the snow was super heavy? i think this is the first i’ve shoveled snow since i’ve gone away for college. my arms hurt from all that shoveling. we also had to dig out our car which was parked in the street. i saw the a street plow circling our block and i reported this sighting to my sisters. we worked hard in digging out our car as fast as we can because we feared the street plower would just bury our car back in. my older sister ended up parking the car in our driveway so that when the plow came, it wouldn’t repile all the snow back onto our driveway. we finished at around 12:10 a.m. wow i was so sore. my back and arms! i felt like an old lady. snow is so pretty when it hasn’t been shoveled or salted.

oh so my family rescheduled our movie outing to today. we were lucky enough to catch a bargain matinee showing of “catch me if you can”. it was a good movie i must say. leo didn’t suck like he did in “titanic” or “the beach”. i recommend that you guys see it. it is about a real guy who stole 4 million dollars from the united states before he was even 19! isn’t that crazy. after the movie, my family and i went to cpk for dinner. it was yummy. when we finished dinner, it was time to finish our last minute christmas shopping. we still haven’t officially celebrated christmas because we are going to massachusetts to celebrate with my cousins. diana and i had to get the rest of my aunt’s gift. we were lucky enough to find it at the mall. i can now say that i am officially done with christmas shopping! wooha! i’m currently reading anthony bourdain’s book. he’s the guy on food network who travels all over the world and eats really strange food. i really like his dry sense of humor. hehe. he is so blunt and normal in his book. he is just like that on his show! speaking of food network, i really miss watching all those cooking shows. it sucks that i don’t have food network at home. it’s considered to be a “premium” channel. grr. anyway, my family and i will be going to massachusetts to meet up with the rest of my family tomorrow. i am anticipating another traditional family food fest. i can’t wait! bring on the food! good night!

today i planned on seeing harry potter 2 with my sister, but due to the insane amount of traffic near the mall, it took us almost an hour to get to roosevelt raceway movie theater. it was 2:50 p.m. before we were finally at the theater. too bad the movie started at 2:30 p.m.! anyway, i told jessica that we were going to see lord of the rings: the two towers. it was really good. i’m glad i got to see the 3 hour movie for $5.75. yay for matinee prices. after the movie, i had to drive through all the last minute shopper traffic. it’s insane. i don’t want to go to garden city again until maybe a week after christmas. maybe even longer because there are always those after-christmas sales. ahh. i just spent about 2 hours wrapping gifts. it was much fun. i put in my john mayer concert cds and became a wrapping machine. i still have one more gift to wrap, but it’ll be easy. my mom thinks she can make me wrap her huge gift for her sister. she’ll have to pay me a lot! haha. anyway, i just wanted to say merry christmas to everyone in advance. oh yeah, happy birthday dad! (his birthday is on christmas eve).

oh yeah, grace and i have been working very hard to prepare for our spring break in florida. she looked for the cheapest place to stay at, and i found the cheapest van rental. we added everything up last night at like 4 am and calculated how much each person has to pay. i think we should open a travel agency for students. haha. grace and i decided that we will not ride middle seat throughout the entire road trip because of our efforts. ok happy holidays!

i can’t believe it, but i finally made it to dean’s list! i got 4 a’s and 1 b in stupid finance. yay!!!! my dream of being on the dean’s list for one semester has been achieved! as quoted from the cmu site:

Students who receive a semester QPA of 3.50 or higher (while taking at least 36 factorable units and receiving no incompletes) will be placed on the Dean’s List for that semester; students who receive a semester QPA of 3.75 or higher (while taking at least 36 factorable units and receiving no incompletes) will be placed on the Dean’s List with High Honors for that semester.

i think i even made it on the dean’s list with high honors! i’m so excited. my name is going to be in the school newspaper. hahaha. anyway, i thought i’d give you guys an update in my life. so all those nights at the library did pay off. anyway, i better go figure out what christmas gifts to buy today. bye! <3

i hate finals. i am finally done with my five finals. i am going home in two hours. i can’t wait. mis and finance screwed me over. i had no idea that my nice mis professor was capable in giving such a HARD exam. i was prepared to fail finance because my professor is heartless. i was excited that i could do the first question completely. too bad i couldn’t do the last question that was worth 40 freaking points. anyway, i better go finish packing. new york, here i come!

yay, i’m back at cmu. hurrah. bring on the finals! can you guys sense my sarcasm? the next three weeks are going to suck a lot. i can’t wait until i go home on december 16. wow, that feels like an eternity away! ok back to work.
