happy halloween!

happy halloween! now give me some candy! anyway, i went to office hours today and we chatted with our super cool ta, jaimie. hehehe. he rules. we looked through his phd students pic book. hehehe. after office hours, julyan and i went to eat lunch in oakland. and to top it off, we went to dave and andy’s! mmm. then i came back and bummed around. then i had to go work. blahblah, i don’t know i’m going to do tonight, but hopefully i’m going to go see a movie! =D everyone here for my fave john mayer song. <3

it sure feels like winter here. i decided to wear my down coat today because it’s so freakin’ cold. i went to bed at 1:30 a.m. yesterday, so that means i got 7 hours of sleep! amazing. i don’t think i need a nap today. i’m a big girl. =D i didn’t fall asleep neither finance nor production. i have 3 more classes today! woohaa. i like business & society; that’s my night class on wednesdays.
so grace sent me an “all about me” email where you answer questions and whatnot. then you send it to all your friends. so i filled it out and now i realize how a schoolaholic i am. one of the questions was like, “what book are you reading now?” i answered: “reading for pleasure???? i only read textbooks now”. so sad. and then there was this question about “what do you think about when you wake up?” i answered: “oh my god, what time is it? did i miss my finance exam?!” haha. so sad how my life revolves around school. oh yeah, yesterday julyan and i were working on mis, and then she’s like oh let’s go shopping tomorrow because hilary has a car. and i’m like, “but i want to do hw!” then julyan looked at me funny. and i’m like oh i mean, i have to do hw. ugh i felt like such a loser. oh yeah, during mis office hours, my ta was like, why are you doing hw so early? i’m like actually i started last monday. 
the hw is due on monday, so basically i did it 2 weeks in advance. my professor decided to move back the due date last wednesday, so whatever! i’m not that crazy, i swear. today i’m going to finance office hours before business and society. then tomorrow is dedicated to finance. 4 hours baby! hahaha. what a life i have. <3

who would have thought today would be an overcast day? pittsburgh weather is such a drag. there are no surprises. it’s either overcast, cold, rainy, or all of the above. so i just woke up. nothing much going on around here. i’m supposed to be having lunch with grace soon. 
i haven’t seen her since saturday. hehe. it’ll be nice. =) i have work from 3-5. then i’m going to mis office hours since i can’t go to freakin finance hours. grr. work really sucks. next week i have my 2nd finance exam; i’m really not looking forward to it. i’m sorry i only blog about how sucky school is, but my life is really boring, there’s nothing else to talk about!

well today was an ok day. classes weren’t that strenuous. finance seemed to fly by. it was kind of nice. marketing was boring as usual. i didn’t learn anything new. mis was the same. we used access and stuff. exciting stuff! at 4:30, i went to an internship meeting. the career consultant explained to us how to get an internship. basically, we have to pick 50 companies we’re interested in and send them our resumes and cover letters. i don’t even know 50 companies! i’m so stressed out about this internship thing. who would want to hire me? a kid at the meeting brought up a point that we have so much school work, that we don’t have enough time to send out 50 resumes to 50 different companies. i feel like i should quit school and just focus on getting an internship. boohoo. so far i’ve applied to 1 internship. i think it’s still a little to early to be applying for internships. i’ve been looking on monstertrak, and most of the internships are for right now or next semester! anyway, after i came home, i had dinner and attempted to finish my mis hw. i also did laundry. blargh. i just read a sad article about the university of az shootings. i hate when stupid people go on a killing spree and then end up kiling themselves because they are too chicken to deal with the consequences for making such a stupid decision. grr. ok well, that’s all i have to babble about now. leave me a comment if you love me. <3

i can’t believe another weekend has come and gone. i didn’t really do anything exciting this weekend. on friday i went over to grace’s apartment and she made dinner and we baked. we also managed to watch like 3 hours of law and order. grace is addicted to that show! hehe. on saturday, i went to work on my marketing homework with my friends. it was very quick since i already did the regression. ooh. for dinner, grace, tania, and i went to winner’s to get cheap food. mm. after dinner i went to see ben folds in concert. it was a free concert at carnegie mellon. he was really cool. he liked to talk a lot with the audience. during the opening acts, i was taking pictures of duncan sheik, but then my low battery icon came up and i freaked out. i ended up going home and charging my camera for 30 minutes so i could take pics of ben folds. i have like one decent picture of ben folds. oh here is a picture of my ben folds ticket. haha. i liked his music a lot. i loved his rant about how he hates korn. also, i liked his song called “song for the dumped”. he was very angry when he sang that song. 
ok well i have nothing to really to do today. just work and maybe finish the dreaded finance homework. bye <3

yes when i was young. hmm all my costumes were pretty boring. my friend and i did enter a costume contest at school. we were a horse. hahaha. we used a bedsheet. we won for most creative or something ridiculous.
4. Do you enjoy going to haunted houses or other spooky events?
haha i get scared easily. i like haunted houses. my friends and i mistakenly walked into the mummy haunted house at universal studios in california. sooo scary!
5. Will you dress up for Halloween this year?
honestly, probably not. i haven’t dressed up for halloween for a very long time!

finance blues
Oct 24th
so i’m really tired of doing finance homework. i’ve basically finished the homework except one question. i think i will write a note to my ta and be like “this question is so complicated. you know i spent a lot of time on this, so please don’t grade too harshly!” i went to office hours from 10:30 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. sad isn’t it? hehe. after that i went to work and then to a marketing meeting. i only had an egg for breakfast, and didn’t have dinner until 7:30 p.m. it was pretty intense. i was VERY hungry. i come home and no one is home. so sad. i’m just glad it’s thursday, which means friday is very close. also, on saturday there is a ben folds concert. yay. =) i can’t wait. ok back to some good old tv. <3
studying pays off (kinda!)

i didn’t do much today. i worked on my mis project with my group. i emailed my marketing group about meeting, but no one responded. how typical! hmm, i went to work. i was actually kind of busy so i couldn’t get any studying done. we got a new computer for the circ desk. it’s like a 3 ghz or something ridiculous. i don’t see why we had to get such a nice computer to check out books. cmu seems to enjoy wasting money. also, we got a new printer for no reason at all. our other printer is pretty new and seems to work just fine. after work i came home and ate dinner. and then…here comes the highlight of my day. i checked my grades online. i have a 3.89! two of my professors didn’t put up our grades, but i’m pretty sure i have an a in business and society and i am sure i have an a in marketing. so i must have at least a 3.89. here’s a screen shot of my grades. haha. i know this is sad, but it’s the equivalent of hanging it up on the refrigerator door. 
in other news, i studied in the library from 8 pm to midnight. i have a business & society midterm tomorrow. i heard it’s very comphrensive and tricky. boohoo. i did most of the reading again. i’m going to study more tomorrow during my 2 hr break. ok well i’m done babbling. good night! <3

i had a pretty productive day yesterday. i finished my production hw #2 (finally). julyan and i went to the professor and he basically did the entire homework for us. hehehe. after production, i did the first part of my marketing homework. then i did one question for the next production hw. then i did most of question 1 for my mis hw. yay. oh so i emailed my marketing professor because i had some questions about the assignment. he answered me very quickly. in the matter of 30 minutes! heheh. at the end of the email he’s like, “by the way, you did very well on the exam. good show!” that made me so happy because i seriously thought i screwed up on the exam. i checked on blackboard and i found out i got a 95! wow. i am really impressed. i hope they didn’t mix up the grades. when i left the exam i was pretty sure i got one multiple choice wrong, which would leave me at a 97. i was also pretty sure i got other questions wrong! woohoo. i think i have a 3.8 for mid-semester. doesn’t that rule? i really hope i can get over a 3.5 this semester. i want to be on the dean’s list. pray for me. <3
midsemester break is over :(

wow i can’t believe midsemster break is over. those four days definitely flew by. i had a lot of work to do though. i worked on production on thursday and friday. i went shopping with the girls on friday and saturday. friday we did food shopping at giant eagle. i bought some food. i saved $7.00. woohoo. on saturday i went clothes shopping. i bought two pairs of jeans. one was only $19.99 so i had to buy it! julyan’s 21st birthday party ruled. it was a lot of fun. there weren’t as many people as lynne’s party because a lot of people went home. hehe. yay. oh yeah so i got my hair cut, and all my friends really like it. i can’t believe my hair stylist cut off 2.5 inches. i feel almost bald! hehe. well i just finished my production, mis hw, and mis group project part. i looked at the finance homework at work and i was so scared. i attempted to start it, but it was too hard! ahh. i guess it’s time to go to office hours again! i hope the tas didn’t forget me already. this week doesn’t look too bad. i have my business and society midterm on wednesday. i guess i will be studying on tuesday. boohoo. i wonder how i did on my production and marketing test. i really hope there was a lot of partial credit for production. ok well i’m going to go relax for a little bit. sorry for the shortage of blogs. good night! <3
john mayer rules

for all you people who don’t know who john mayer is, go to his website and find out about how talented he is! he’s having another u.s. tour after he returns from europe. of course he isn’t coming to pittsburgh. the closest he’ll be to me is either in ohio or in philly. boohoo. i really want to see him live. maybe i can convince grace to go to the philly concert on 11/27. that would rock!
in other news, i haven’t done anything that exciting today. i worked on fun production homework today, and i still can’t get the last part to work. it’s so frustrating. i think my ta hates me too. i asked him if i could see him tomorrow because the last part wasn’t working for me. right now i’m waiting for tania to come home so i can go to a friend’s birthday party. if she doesn’t get home soon, i’m going to call her and tell her im going! hehe. ok well i’m getting my hair cut tomorrow. i’m scared. this will be my first visit to a real hair salon. when i talk about “real”, i’m talking about non-asian hair salons where you don’t need to schedule an appointment. hehe. i hope the lady doesn’t mess up my hair! ok well i’m going to get ready to go out. it’s super cold in pittsburgh. i wore my winter down coat today! craziness.

well midsemester break has started for me. i had my last quiz today. yay. guess what i did tonight? i went to the stuffy doherty gym and worked out for a good 40 minutes! i used the elliptical machine (which was not a precor) for 30 minutes. it was much harder than what i have used in the big gym on campus. i know i’m going to be sore tomorrow. also, i used some weight machines. my arms are going to be sore tomorrow as well. anyway, i just thought i’d update the few people who actually read my site on a weekly basis about my exciting life. tomorrow is my friend’s friend’s birthday. she invited me to attend, but i don’t know if i should since i barely know her. in fact i just met her today. julyan’s bday party is on friday. yay. =) i’ve been thinking about getting a haircut. i think i might get one tomorrow (or today) or on friday. i’m not used to this scheduling an appointment thing. it’s so weird! back at home i just go to my mom’s friend’s hair place and that’s it. also, how much do i tip a hair dresser? my hair is getting really long and hard to manage. i think it’s time for a trim since the last time i got a hair cut was sometime in may. hehe. at the same time, it will be hard to part with my long hair. i also don’t know what kind of hair cut i want. i definitely don’t want a short haircut. well i better call the hair salon tomorrow and see what’s up. my friend hilary recommended philip pelusi, so i will try the one in squirrel hill. ok well, i’m done babbling for tonight. gnite. <3

well while most schools have off today, i have two exams today. hurrah. cmu rules. i feel that the only thing i’ve done this weekend was study study. i don’t even think i studied enough for marketing. i’m going to be soooooooo screwed on the exam. there is just too much material for production. ahh. oh well. i figure that if i don’t know it now, cramming won’t do anything for me. wish me luck! i’ll be sure to update my 3 readers about how i do. <3
studious weekend

hi guys, i haven’t done anything exciting this weekend. all i’ve done is study for my two exams. on friday i just sat home and did nothing because it was rainy and gross outside. on saturday i went to the library to study because there were too many people home. i studied from 1-6 pm (about). my stomach started to growl so i went home and attempted to make fried rice. it was ok, but i was not satisfied. tania and grace were going to oakland for dinner, so i decided to go with them. we went to winner’s. mmm nice cheap food. before i knew it it was 9 pm when we got back. i decided i’d bake cookies and study. time flew by, and by the time i finished baking and being distracted, it was already midnight. i studied production from 12-3:30 a.m. when did i get so hardcore? i have no idea. i basically taught myself a whole chapter since my professor has poor lecture skills. i really hope he doesn’t give us complicated problems to do. i probably won’t finish the exam in time. right now i’m at work and i was just looking over my marketing notes. ahhh. i’m so stressed out about these two exams. the production practice midterm seemed to be really easy, i hope the actual exam is the same level of difficulty. my production professor seems to be really nice, and not the kind of person to decide to twist the questions like my finance professor. ok, well i’m going to go read about linear sensitivity analysis. yay shadow prices! oh i’m going to a production review session right after work. i can’t wait until tomorrow when this is all over. <3

that’s a tough question. i have a lot of favorite cds. i’m not sure which one i would pick. i think i would pick nine inch nails halo 17 – and all that could have been. most people would never expect me to like nin, but i really think trent reznor is a musical genius. his lyrics can be related by all, no matter how happy you are as a person. hehe. ok enough about nin. on to the next question!
2. If you could only choose 2 movies to watch ever again, what would they be?
wow this week’s friday five is hard! i think i would probably choose shawshank redemption and american beauty.

j.d. salinger’s catcher in the rye, ken kesey’s one flew over the cuckoo’s nest, and f. scott fitzgerald’s great gatsby. those were some good books i read during high school. too bad i rarely read now. haha. =p

pasta, water, chicken, and broccoli. haha. that’s basically what my diet consists of at school.

wow that was time consuming! in other news. i passed my finance exam! in fact i almost got an a. 89 BABY. that just made my WEEK. hehe. i went to recitation and my ta had all the exams on the table. he gave me mine, and i was was afraid to open the booklet. i slowly opened the blue cover and i saw my grade. i was sooo surprised. i was expecting a c if the tas had mercy on me. hehe. wooooooooo. life is so good today. i hope i don’t get my mis exam back today. i think i messed that up. ahh. ok well. hope you enjoyed my fun friday five. <3

so today was a very calm day. the only thing i did today was go to work at 3. i shelved for an hour and a half. it was very strenuous. i had to move an entire column of books so i could put one stupid book into the shelf. haha. after work i chilled home for a bit, then i went to eat dinner with tania and chris. we went to a new restaurant called “sushi boat”. i was a bit nervous because japanese food is expensive. when we came in, i looked on the wall and there were all these pictures of chinese dishes. i was excited. they even had stewed beef noodle soup. i then heard the restaurant people speaking chinese. so i go up to the lady and ask if the beef noodle soup is what i thought it was, and she’s like yep. i spoke to her in chinese for a bit. then i thought i heard some taiwanese, so i’m like, “oh are you taiwanese?” and she’s like yep. we chatted a bit about where i’m from and stuff. it was kind of cool to meet a taiwanese person in pittsburgh of all places. made me kind of feel at home. hehe. the noodles were pretty good. yummy. it was only $4.90! that’s cheap for pittsburgh. in new york it’s like $3.95. hehe. ok well i’m going to catch up with road rules. just thought i’d blog about my exciting experience.

woo it’s already thursday. today is my “play” day. julyan and i are supposed to play because we have nothing due tomorrow. wooha. life is good. did you guys notice that i changed my mood? hehe. finally. i only have two more exams. i’m so excited. <3 actually i have 1 more after, but that’s after my 1 day midsemester break. i’m excited. teehee. soo, today all i have is work from 3-5 p.m. exciting stuff huh? heh. i woke up at 11:48 am, just before the afternoon. yay. i just took a shower. i fried an egg for lunch and made crescent rolls. mmmmmm. i don’t like my pan very much; my egg got stuck to it even though i put enough oil. weird huh? that’s what i get for buying a $9.99 non-stick pan at target. i should have gotten a teflon pan or brought one from home. i’ll just tell my parents to bring me a teflon one from home. yay. anyway, back to my lunch. i’m going to catch up with some tv. bye <3

one exam down today. 1 quiz to go. 2 more exams on monday, then i can take a little break. woohoo. my mis exam wasn’t that bad. i think i passed it hopefully. i’m not that scared for my production exam anymore because the professor decided to put up a practice midterm, and according to that, it doesn’t seem too difficult. true, i will be studying all weekend though. boohoo. speaking of studying, i have to go study for biz and society. hopefully i will be studying the right chapter this week! business crime here i come. heh. by the way, i got the comments working kind of. i have no idea why the cursor turns to a double arrow above on the form. according to my css, it should only turn into a double arrow when it’s a link. who knows. ok i better get started with reading. laters. <3

ok so my site is back. i basically reinstalled greymatter. i’m so sorry for bothering you, mike, about this whole thing. i’m crazy. :/ i learned how to CHMOD and stuff last night. isn’t that cool? so all my previous greymatter archives will be found under “archives”. i still need steven to make my comments popup style, but this is all i can do for now. i’m going to go make wonton noodle soup. <3
