I have to write about

I have to write about this because I know Teresa will not. She will never fess up to this mistake she made. This is going to be hard for some of her readers to believe, but for a moment I entreat you to suspend your disbelief. The story is simple. Teresa went out to dinner. Yes, she drove. Yes, it was raining and quite dark. Yes, she had her sister with her. All these are distracting factors, but are they enough to lead to her grave mistake? It is this writer’s opinion that there is no excuse.

Teresa went into a CHINESE RESTAURANT mistaking it for the CHEESECAKE FACTORY.

For those of you who don’t know or may have forgotten Teresa is of Chinese decent. Furthermore she is a lover of Chinese food and a patron to many Chinese restaurants. If anyone knows a Chinese restaurant it is Teresa. somehow, though, a restaurant of distinct Asian cuisine became the destination of her driving and walking efforts while she carried the illusion that it was the Cheesecake Factory!

How could this mistake happen?

How much more distinct must a restaurant be? The Cheesecake Factory’s unmistakable aroma and mistique was clearly missing, but this did not phase Teresa. Indeed, she went as far as to request seating and a wait time.

What was it that jogged her fatigued memory, but the BAR location.

Further disbelief from her readers is inevitable at this point. Teresa knew where the bar was. So well engraved in her mind was its location that, against all other clear indications of the wrong restaurant, it was this single factor that caused her to leave and look for the actual Cheesecake Factory.

What is next readers: mistaking Joe Shanghai’s for McDonald’s?

I leave you here to ponder this peculiar occurrence.
