hi from ny. my computer is fixed. apparently it was fixed on wednesday. my mom’s co-worker, andrew, replace my motherboard with an abit one, and then installed my new 40 gig hd. so when i came home wednesday night, i tried out my computer, and lo and behold, i could watch dvds! then i tried opening ms word, and then the problems began! it wouldn’t open. then i tried to open norton system works. that wouldn’t open either. so it was decided i would go to work with my mom and get my computer fixed. in order to keep this story short, this is what happened: they installed xp on my new hd, move over my important files from my old hd (but no programs, because they won’t work after the move), and then format my old hd. so basically i have 0 programs on my computer, but it’s ok. i have most of them on cd, so i will just reload them when i get my computer. my computer was shipped out thursday evening. currently it is in transit to pittsburgh (according to ups tracking), but i know it’s still sitting in new stanton, pa because ups doesn’t ship on weekends. it’s ok. i should be getting it by monday afternoon. i’m happy! woo. ny is so nice. my family is going out for dinner tonight. somewhere in flushing of course! i’ll be going back to cmu tomorrow afternoon. i have a stupid meeting at 7 pm too. argh. school sucks. oh yeah, i’m sick now too. :/
